I was fortunate enough to go on a holiday to Marrakech after what appeared to be a very trying year. Whilst there I had the grand opportunity to visit a lost city right by the snowy Atlas mountains and a quaint fishing village down south called Mirleft. Marrakech was timeless in its bustle and bursting with variety in its markets. I was moved by the generosity of the locals and warmed up to their wisdom: “Beware of those who are too friendly, they have a motive up their sleeves.” An adage that applies beyond it’s rustic squares and is relevant wherever we are. Yes, I nodded as those words were imparted to me, I learnt that only weeks before!
The rest of the trip included a stopover to Dubai and Abu Dhabi where we caught up with the lovely Lamis Harib (who we are certain is one lady who will make some serious changes some day) and Singapore, where we had our chance at visiting the beautiful Gardens by The Bay and feasting on the world’s best Mee Siam cooked by Mrs Lily Tan my gorgeous mum.
Thanks to Stef my partner for forever, his dad Morrie for making this trip so utterly memorable and to my brother Ben for the antique Chinese clock he restored…
…and thanks to all my friends, critics and clients for making 2012 awesome when it truly mattered.
