Finally we get to see photos of the brand I designed nearly a year ago now. That’s only because I haven’t had the opportunity to visit Singapore until recently. Always a joy to see your work in real life and even more so expanded under careful hands.
Inspired by Peranakan art (for which I am proud to call my heritage) and it’s ever recognisable obsession with fine detail whether in embroidery or paint brush, I created a brand that takes the Halia brand even further. The diamond shape that now encapsulate the brand name is a homage to the tinned biscuit and sweet packaging from a nostalgic past. Those same ones that stood in rows at the corner “provision shops” from that same era. Ah, memories!
For anyone who is visiting, don’t forget to include the Singapore Botanic Gardens and its lush greenery in your must-go destinations. And put Halia on that itinerary to enjoy the full spectrum of the garden experience and your own culinary adventure.
