My first pop song

For the band Farkind

I wrote this in 2003 right after the death of my best friend who had just had his debut album of original songs posthumously released. It was a sort of closure as we’ve always talked about working together on music projects when we were children and now that it wouldn’t come to be, I thought I’d put words to music, care of his recording studio friends.  I have not done anything about it until now. I have written many more so when time (and money) allows, there will be more. I promise.
Until then, please enjoy “Wait (Don’t Wait)”. 😊

Wait (Don’t Wait)
I caught his smile
He was dancing in the corner
He was sweating in his jeans
There’s a devil in his skin
Yeah
He smiled again
That’s when I motioned over
I made him take his shirt off
And he stole my heart away
Yeah

Chorus:

Wait?
Don’t wait, don’t wait, don’t wait
Wait?
Don’t wait,
Baby make your moves now
Don’t wait
We dance
We’re pounding and we’re grinding
We’re hustling to the beat
You can smell it in the heat
Yeah
We kissed
And suddenly the room spins
Maybe it’s the substance
Maybe it’s just me

(chorus)

Bridge

Now I’m stuck
I don’t know where to go
I’m in love and oh-my-God it shows!
(repeat)

Baby make your moves now, don’t hold back
